How we partnered with the Caribbean Premier League in 2023

Our CPL Sponsorship

Since 2019, Angostura Chill has proudly been the official refreshment partner of the Caribbean Premier League cricket tournament.

This partnership saw Angostura Chill become an integral part of the tournament from a visual perspective, with exciting umpire branding, 3rd umpire branding integration, and in-stadium activations including giveaways, cheerleaders and a mascot.

This year, Angostura Chill’s mascot Iggy the Iguana was brought to life within stadiums in Trinidad & Guyana. This addition certainly gave an added element of fun to Chill activations in two of our largest consuming markets.

The sponsorship of CPL, which has attracted over half a billion viewers in 2022, has been instrumental in driving awareness of the rebrand from Angostura® Lemon Lime and Bitters to Angostura® Chill. We had the eyes of a vast international viewership which spans cricket fans from US to UK, Australia to India.

Even more exciting for us as a brand, our partnership with the ‘biggest party in sport’ has allowed Angostura Chill to expand into existing markets and continue with more relaunch plans.

Our further commitments to sport

Continuing our commitment to smart social responsibility, we’ve recently announced our sponsorship of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League in 2023.

The collaboration between Angostura Chill and the Massy Women's CPL exemplifies our commitment to championing the empowerment of women in sports across Trinidad and Tobago and the broader Caribbean region. An invitation was extended to two female secondary school cricket teams to attend the WCPL finals on the 10th September at Tarouba. The reigning SSCL (Secondary School Cricket League) champions, Rio Claro West Secondary and Blanchisseuse Secondary, were present at the games to see the Barbados Royals take the title.

We have also expanded our CSR partnerships with the CPL by hosting a half-day cricket coaching clinic with The Daren Sammy Foundation, Northern Cluster Grassroots and Castries Cricket Lab in St. Lucia.

Well-known cricketers Mark Deyal and Jayden Seales from the Trinbago Knight Riders, and Kimani Melius from St. Lucia Kings offered their expertise to around 40 young cricketers between the ages of 8 and 17.
